Sharef, Ze'ev
(1906-84)
   Israeli politician. He was born in Izbor, Bukovina, and settled in Palestine in 1925. In 1948 he became secretary of the Emergency Committee and the National Administration which laid plans for Israel's civil service. From 1948 to 1957 he was first secretary of the government of Israel. Later he became director of the state revenues. As a member of the Knesset he served as minister of commerce and industry, minister of finance and minister of housing.
